Last year's Parent & Family Weekend was a tremendous success, filled with memorable moments and engaging activities. Here are some highlights from the 2023 event:
Welcome Reception: Families were greeted with a warm welcome reception where they met university leaders and enjoyed refreshments while mingling with other parents and guests.
Bobcat Feud: One of the most entertaining highlights was Bobcat Feud, a lively game show modeled after Family Feud but with a unique UC Merced twist. Families and students teamed up to compete in a fun and friendly competition, answering questions about campus life, UC Merced traditions, and academic programs.
Student Performances: Talented student groups showcased their skills through dance, music, and theater performances, highlighting the diverse talents and creativity within the UC Merced community.
Family Picnic: A delightful picnic allowed families to relax and enjoy a meal together on the picturesque campus grounds, complete with games and activities for all ages.
Interactive Workshops: Engaging workshops covered various topics, from student support services and career planning to wellness and campus safety.
Academic Sessions: Parents attended informative sessions led by esteemed faculty members, offering a deeper understanding of the academic programs and research opportunities available to students.
Keynote Address: A keynote speaker provided valuable insights and inspiration, leaving a lasting impact on attendees.
